Cooperative Music Library

Background

The Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES Cooperative Music Library was established to give districts a cost-effective way to expand their music selections.  We currently serve more than 50 districts in 6 different BOCES.

Users are able to choose from over 6000 music titles for band, orchestra and chorus. Music is available at elementary, middle and high school levels.

The program was established to offer districts  a way to provide a variety music to their students at an affordable price.

Members of the Cooperative Music Library are able to access the online catalog and reserve music online.

Benefits

Students are exposed to a wider variety and amount of music at a cost-saving advantage to districts. By participating in the Cooperative Music Library, districts are able to maximize dollars and provide a standard music collection at a minimum cost.

Titles are purchased throughout the year as requested from members to fit the needs of participating districts. Staff maintains and stores the music in a climate controlled environment.

In addition to the savings already achieved through cooperative sharing and purchasing efforts, participating school districts also receive BOCES state aid.
