P-TECH OHM Attends Women in Manufacturing Summit

On October 18, students from the OHM BOCES P-TECH program attended the second annual Women in Manufacturing Summit at SUNY Polytechnic Institute (SUNY Poly). The event, hosted by the Utica City School District (UCSD) in partnership with SUNY Poly and the Manufacturers Association of Central New York (MACNY), aimed to provide exposure and raise awareness for women seeking professional growth in the manufacturing industry.

Students had an exciting day touring the Center for Global and Advanced Manufacturing (CGAM) at SUNY Poly. They engaged in hands-on STEM activities, connected with inspiring speakers, and collaborated with SUNY Poly students while exploring the Additive Manufacturing Lab, Maker Space, and Project Based Learning Lab. Additionally, they visited Semikron Danfoss to learn more about their state-of-the-art development and production facility.
