OHM BOCES Earns Eight Awards in NYSPRA Contest

The Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES was recognized with eight awards in the New York School Public Relations Association’s (NYSPRA) 2020 Annual Communications Awards, a state contest to recognize and celebrate outstanding achievement in educational communications. Two of the honors were Awards of Excellence, the highest level of recognition; two were Awards of Honor, the second place level of recognition; and four were Awards of Merit, the third-place level of recognition.

The OHM BOCES Career & Technical Education Center’s 2020-21 Program Guide, created by Senior Graphic Artist Cheri Derdzinski, earned an Award of Excellence in the Special Purpose Publication category and an Award of Honor in the Overall Graphics and Design category. The 2019-21 Utica City School District Calendar, designed by Graphic Design Artist Carly Wright, earned an Award of Excellence in the Calendar category and an Award of Merit in the Overall Graphics and Design category. The School Communications Service also received an Award of Honor in the Website category for the Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES website,           

Awards of Merit were earned for the OHM BOCES COVID-19 Posters designed by Graphic Services Supervisor Andrea Rafferty, the EPIC Learning Experience Strategic Campaign created by Wright and the New York Mills Union Free School District Inspirational Bathroom Signs designed by Wright.
