OHM BOCES Earns Four Awards in NSPRA Contest
The Oneida-Herkimer-Madison (OHM) BOCES was recognized with four awards in the National School Public Relations Association’s (NSPRA) 2020 Publications and Digital Media Awards, a national contest to recognize and celebrate outstanding achievement in educational communications. All four of the honors were Honorable Mentions, the third-place level of recognition.
Earning awards were the OHM BOCES School Library System Logo in the Branding/Image Package category, the OHM BOCES social media accounts in the Social Media category, the Richfield Springs Central School District Fall 2019 and February 2020 Newsletters in the Print Newsletter category and the New York Mills Union Free School District social media accounts in the Social Media category.
The School Library System Logo was designed by graphic artist Carly Wright, the OHM BOCES social media accounts are maintained by the School Communications department, the Richfield Springs Central School District newsletters were written by public relations assistant Rebecca Walts and designed by senior graphic artist Cheri Derdzinski, and the New York Mills Union Free School District social media accounts are maintained by public relations assistant Rebecca Daly.
All public and private schools and education organizations, as well as private businesses serving as business partners, were eligible to enter the competition. Awards were given according to the type of communication vehicle and the type and size of the district/organization. Each entry was judged on the overall excellence of the entry as well as its quality compared to other entries in the category.
NSPRA is a professional organization dedicated to building support and trust for education through responsible public relations that leads to success for all students.
