Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES Earns Six Awards in NSPRA Contest
The Oneida-Herkimer-Madison (OHM) BOCES was recognized with six awards in the National School Public Relations Association’s (NSPRA) 2019 Publications and Digital Media Awards, a national contest to recognize and celebrate outstanding achievement in educational communications. Three of the honors were an Award of Merit, the second place level of recognition, and three were Honorable Mention, the third place level of recognition.
Earning Awards of Merit were the OHM BOCES’ 2019 Annual Meeting Book in the Annual Report category, the OHM BOCES Career and Technical Education (CTE) Center Brochure in the Marketing Materials category, and the OHM BOCES’ 2019-20 Service Directory in the Special Purpose Publication category. The Annual Meeting Book and Service Directory were both designed by Andrea Rafferty, associate graphic artist and Shelby LaGray-Masters, graphic artist, and the CTE Brochure was designed by Carly Wright, graphic artist.
Receiving Honorable Mentions were the 2019 EPIC Conference in the Marketing Materials category, The OHM BOCES Career & Technical Education Center’s 2018-19 Program Guide in the Marketing Publication category, and the OHM BOCES School and Business Alliance’s (SABA) 2017-18 Final Report in the Special Purpose Publication category. The CTE Program Guide and SABA Final Report were designed by Cheri Derdzinski, senior graphic artist, and the 2019 Epic Conference Materials were designed by Wright.
All public and private schools and education organizations, as well as private businesses serving as business partners, were eligible to enter the competition. Awards were given according to the type of communication vehicle and the type and size of the district/organization. Each entry was judged on the overall excellence of the entry as well as its quality compared to other entries in the category.
