P-TECH's Christina Warner Named Outstanding Woman in the STEAM Category
P-TECH School Counselor and Business Partner Liaison Christina Warner was selected as the 2018 Outstanding Woman in the STEAM category for YWCA Mohawk Valley’s 30th Annual Solute to Outstanding Women for her leadership at P-TECH OHM. Although her titles sound like separate entities, bringing business partners into her students’ educational career to build a network of support that will influence a promising future is crucial for students who feel limited by personal barriers. Mrs. Warner’s role on the P-TECH team is geared towards growing the local economy with our students who are from this area and invested in its development.
Mrs. Warner is viewed as a strong, female leader by students, parents, teachers, and the administrative team at OHM BOCES. Her ability to provide social-emotional support to students while also giving them the support necessary to participate in a rigorous early college high school program makes her exceptional. Her mission to create opportunities at the college level that leads seamlessly into the workforce is crucial. Students view Mrs. Warner as supportive, intelligent, compassionate, and a team player. They see her closely involved with their families, teachers, local agencies, businesses, and college partners. She gives them a vision for the future that creates meaning in the present. Her work is important. Her mission is meaningful. She is OUTSTANDING. Congratulations, Mrs. Warner!
