On October 24, the Oneida/Herkimer School Library System partnered with Madison-Oneida BOCES and Otsego Northern Catskills BOCES to host the annual Leatherstocking Region Conference at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Utica.
The event featured keynote speaker Pablo Cartaya, an internationally acclaimed author, screenwriter, educator, actor and community builder.
Attendees engaged in informative breakout sessions specifically designed for K-12 librarians, offering valuable opportunities to connect with colleagues and vendors. Session topics explored the science of reading, innovative web evaluation techniques, strategies for making lesson content accessible to all learners and much more.
Participants also explored collaborative efforts with other departments, new instructional tools like live-streaming and a coding workshop called Kodable, along with resources from the Mid-York Library System.
