School Communication Service Earns 24 Awards in NSPRA Contest

The Oneida-Herkimer-Madison (OHM) BOCES School Communication Service was recognized with 24 awards in the National School Public Relations Association’s (NSPRA) 2024 Publications and Digital Media Awards, a national contest to recognize and celebrate outstanding achievement in educational communications. Thirteen of the honors were Awards of Excellence, the highest level of recognition; six of the honors were Awards of Merit, the second-place level of recognition; and five were Honorable Mentions, the third-place level of recognition. The OHM BOCES School Communications team is overseen by Jean Palmer, Supervisor of Communications and Printing Services, and includes Associate Graphic Artist Sean Hogan.

All public and private schools and education organizations, as well as private businesses serving as business partners, were eligible to enter the competition. Awards were given according to the type of communication vehicle and the type and size of the district/organization. Each entry was judged on the overall excellence of the entry as well as its quality compared to other entries in the category.

NSPRA is a professional organization dedicated to building support and trust for education through responsible public relations that leads to success for all students. Since 1935, NSPRA has been providing school communication training and services to school leaders throughout the United States, Canada and the U.S. Dependent Schools worldwide.
