P-TECH Students Present Industry Challenge Final Projects

On May 31, tenth grade students in the Pathways in Technology Early College High School (P-TECH) program at the Oneida-Herkimer-Madison (OHM) BOCES presented their Industry Challenge final projects to partners from Trenton Technology Inc.

Tenth grade P-TECH OHM students were tasked with designing a jig that can assist with aligning a MOSFET to a heatsink before it’s inserted into a printed circuit board, for use on the Trenton Technology floor. Students walked the audience through their projects and their design process, including their initial plans, challenges they encountered and how their designs changed along the way. Students also displayed sketches of their projects.

After each group presented, they invited the business partners to the front of the room so they could demonstrate how their solution would function with a 3D-printed model. The business partners will take the students’ designs and test them out, then announce the winner of the Industry Challenge at a later date.
