Animal Science Students Carve Pumpkins, Deliver Them to Utica Zoo

The annual Spooktacular event at the Utica Zoo was once again decorated with the help of students in the Oneida-Herkimer-Madison (OHM) BOCES Animal Science Career and Technical Education (CTE) program.

Each year, Animal Science students in the OHM BOCES FFA Club carve pumpkins for the Utica Zoo’s Spooktacular event. Students then deliver the pumpkins to the zoo where they’re put on display. This year students delivered the pumpkins on October 20. While students were at the zoo they also learned about all of the different animals.

During the Spooktacular weekend, the FFA Club hosted a trick or treat station where students distribute candy to kids. The students earned community service hours by participating.
