OHM BOCES Chinese Program Students Participate in National Poster Contest
To honor Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, CLASS (Chinese Language Association of Secondary-Elementary Schools) held its second annual National Poster Contest in April. The theme was “Reflecting Harmony in our Community.” It was the first time that the OHM BOCES Chinese program participated in the event. Four students from Mrs. Chang’s classes submitted artwork. One student, Kate Dellers from Oriskany High School, won an honorable mention award.
Kate wanted to “capture different ethnicities as well as the Chinese characters and flags” with her poster.
There were more than 100 students across the Nation who participated in the contest.
The other OHM BOCES Chinese program students who participated were: Brienne Eldred (Oriskany, grade 10); Chayse Fischer (Whitesboro, grade 10) and Phung Tu (New Hartford, grade 12).
