OHM BOCES Engineering by Design Network School Named 2018 Grand Design Challenge Winner
The International Technology and Engineering Educators Association's (ITEEA) Elementary STEM Council recently announced that Little Falls City School District took first place in the 2018 Grand Design Challenge.
The challenge was designed for students and educators to thnk about solutions and challenges affecting everyday lives. Elementary students from around the world worked in small design teams to design a better product or tool that could be used to give small children doses of liquid medicine.
The "Bobcat Binkys" team from Little Falls' Benton Hall Academy, which has been an OHM BOCES Engineering by Design (EbD) network school since 2017, took first place with their innovative design.
Their teacher, Tracy Young, worked with the students as part of an after-school program. The team received a one-year I-STEM Education Group Membership, one free hotel night in Kansas City for this year's ITEEA Conference and a spot in ITEEA's STEM Showcase.
Young will share information about the winning design at the STEM Showcase at teh ITEEA Conference in March.
