Regional Apprenticeship Development & Readiness (Working Solutions)

This is a 3 million dollar grant that will be implemented over the next 4 years to assist with Pre-Apprenticeship and Apprenticeship opportunities. The RADAR grant can assist both men and women, 18+, who live, work, or receive training in one of our 11 counties (HMO, CDO, FMS, Onondaga, and Cortland). This is a disability grant, so applicants must check that they have a disability to become a participant. Once an applicant is enrolled in our program, we will meet with them to discuss their education and career goals. If they are interested in furthering their education through BOCES/ getting a certification ex. (we refer to this as Pre-Apprenticeship), we are able to allocate up to $1,000.00 per person to help cover the cost. Upon completion, we help place individuals into Registered Apprenticeships. Additionally, we are able to assist with job readiness services including, resume writing, interview prep, and employer referrals. We also have $500.00 per person that can be used for supportive services.
