Economists study the production and distribution of resources, goods, and services by collecting and analyzing data, researching trends, and evaluating economic issues.

An agricultural economist is a professional who uses modern analytical management tools to make business decisions for agribusiness firms. Agricultural economists conduct financial analysis, develop marketing plans, and set up optimal production schedules in U.S. and international food and fiber firms. They work primarily with agribusiness firms that provide things like feed, fertilizer, and seed. They also work heavily with companies that process and distribute agricultural products, rural banks, and wholesale or retail food-processing firms.

Agricultural engineers attempt to solve agricultural problems concerning power supplies, the efficiency of machinery, the use of structures and facilities, pollution and environmental issues, and the storage and processing of agricultural products.

Agricultural engineers work in farming, including aquaculture (farming of seafood), forestry, and food processing. They work on a wide variety of projects. For example, some agricultural engineers work to develop climate control systems that increase the comfort and productivity of livestock whereas others work to increase the storage capacity and efficiency of refrigeration. Many agricultural engineers attempt to develop better solutions for animal waste disposal. Those with computer programming skills work to integrate artificial intelligence and geospatial systems into agriculture. For example, they work to improve efficiency in fertilizer application or to automate harvesting systems.

Teaches students about agriculture, food and natural resources. Through these subjects, agricultural educators teach students a wide variety of skills, including science, math, communications, leadership, management and technology.

Responsible for planning and implementing the necessary preparations for our premiere events, our admission driving days, rentals and weddings held on grounds, our encounter program and general administrative tasks. This position will be our main point of contact for the community in regards to special events at the zoo. Full time position working a flexible Friday- Tuesday schedule, some evenings required.

Traveling ambassador for the Utica Zoo who will plan and implement age-appropriate educational programs about the natural world that are delivered to a variety of youth and adult audiences in a setting away from the Zoo. Full time position working a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings as needed.

Engineers who understand animal behavior are useful on a farm. Engineers are designing tractor implements, barns, and robots.

Responsible for the daily operation of the gift shop and gate along with assisting with events and visitor experience needs. Part-time position working weekdays, weekends and some evenings

Manage greenhouse productions and hydroponic systems.

Provides daily maintenance and repairs for the Utica Zoo campus. This includes, but is not limited to: vehicles, buildings, lighting/sound equipment, HVAC, fences, animal habitats, and other structures as assigned; restrooms, operations and event buildings, grounds, planters, structures and fences. Full time position working Tuesday-Saturday with some nights required.

A biologist is a scientist who focuses on living organisms, including plants and animals. Biologists study a wide variety of life forms, from single-celled organisms to primates, and conduct research in many different areas, from the spreading of pathogens to the details of evolution.

Natural resource conservation biologists spend most of their time onsite working with private landowners, other agencies, and units of government. They provide technical support and advice on fish and wildlife habitat development or restoration. They suggest ways to manage fish and wildlife populations, restore streams and wetlands, and improve habitat.

Animals require balanced diets and a nutritionist is a large part of an animal's overall health.

Soil conservationists spend most of their time in the field working with farmers, ranchers, foresters, and other land users. They offer conservation planning and technical help to everyone from family farmers to local government officials. They suggest ways to conserve the soil, improve water quality, manage nutrients, restore wetlands, and protect and improve wildlife habitat.

Soil conservationists make presentations and demonstrate conservation to clubs and organizations. They assist in setting local conservation priorities and then help carry them out.

Facilitates the seasonal camp program, supervising and managing a classroom of 10-16 campers, with support from the Zoo Camp Coordinator. Activities the Zoo Camp Counselor will assist with include guided tours, crafts, animal presentations, games, animal enrichment and free play. Seasonal, full time position working weekdays.
