Mrs. Alyssa Denton

Mrs. Denton is thrilled to join the P-TECH team as a School Counselor.

She earned her M.S.Ed. in School Counseling from the University of the Southwest after completing her B.A. in Psychology at SUNY Polytechnic Institute. Before transitionining into counseling, Mrs. Denton served as the K-5 Program Coordinator at the Clinton Early Learning Center. In that role, she managed before- and after-school activities, field trips, and summer programming. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for education and student advocacy.

While completing her master’s degree, Mrs. Denton also worked as a 5th-grade teacher at the Utica Academy of Science. This experience allowed her to deepen her understanding of classroom instruction, family engagement, and the importance of building long-lasting professional relationships.

Because of her background, she understands exactly how vital workplace skills are to the P-TECH mission. She consistently emphasizes leadership, communication, problem-solving, and creative thinking in both her classroom and her college coaching sessions. Mrs. Denton looks forward to helping the students at P-TECH OHM reach their full potential.
