Application Checklist

The New Visions programs offer qualified seniors an opportunity to gain valuable insights and hands-on learning experiences in their area of interest while exploring future career options. Students will participate in several internship opportunities throughout the school year and may also earn college credit while enrolled.

Students applying to a New Visions program must meet the following criteria:

  • Be a senior in fall of 2026
  • Intend to pursue a college degree
  • Have at least an 85% overall GPA
  • Have at least an 85% average in English 11
  • Have passed all required Regents exams (by the fall of 2026)
  • Demonstrate excellent attendance
  • Have attended the visitation to New Visions - Friday, February 27, 2026


The following forms must be completed and returned to the OHM BOCES Counseling Office:

  • New Visions application form
  • Recommendation form from school counselor
  • Recommendations form from English 11 teacher
  • Recommendations form from an academic teacher
  • Resume & cover letter


*All teacher recommendation forms should be filled out and returned directly to the home district school counselor.

New Visions applications will only be considered if all criteria are met. Please submit your completed packet and registration form to your home school counselor no later than March 27th.
