technician in the shop worked my way up

eight years and then turned into a

my career so one of the things i'd like

is we got this brand new diesel engine

from consi lab so it gives us the

opportunity

to do the new fuel emissions that are

going on in the diesel field right now

so with this engine here i have the

ability to bug the engine here

through there actually set the codes

inside of the

program and then you as a student get

the opportunity to go through the

troubleshoot it and figure out what the

so this is really an awesome thing that

we got we're one of the only

here at the beginning of this year so

working with my seniors on it and

a couple other things going on in here

okay obviously we work on some

smaller stuff as well usually start out

and do a lot of laundry garden stuff the

first year to get a feel for

just overall understanding of what it

takes for an engine to run

and things like that there and then we

work up into the bigger stuff in our

senior year so

this mower right here is currently in

for just uh

didn't run we found that the gas tank

was full of water so we had to go

through and clean the whole

carburetor gas tank so a really good job

for the kids to figure out

what the problem was and then solving

this is our hydraulic test unit here

okay so we actually run this

unit and we hook up gauges on here

and check the pressure for uh this motor

came out of a bulldozer

and that's the blade controls for the

bulldozer that was here

so we use that our senior year a lot for

troubleshooting hydraulic systems

one of the things that's about this year

we also make biodiesel here

and we actually run biodiesel through

this engine so we usually

start it and run it on conventional

diesel and then we literally turn the

valve on here and it turns over and runs

on biodiesel so

and obviously we do some bigger projects

okay so the kids have been working on

this happens to be a really nice project

usually once a week he comes in and he

that's going on getting the kids out an

internship was a little harder

so we made a deal with the dealership

and they allowed a guy to come in here

and then everybody got the opportunity

to work around him

this is kind of our welding corner we do
