Nursing Assistant

This one-year course teaches students basic skills in the area of personal needs and develops the specialized skills required for patient comfort. After learning applied theory in the classroom, students practice nursing skills in the clinical laboratory in actual role-playing situations. Students then transfer their knowledge to the work environment, where they spend six weeks (100 clinical
hours) gaining valuable experience. Once students complete the class, they are eligible to take the written and performance tests offered by the New York State Department of Health to become a Certified Nursing Assistant.
