Health Careers Exploration

Students who enroll in this class should be a high school junior or senior who wants to explore the healthcare occupations or does not meet the prerequisites for Nursing Assistant or New Visions program. This course offers a comprehensive introduction to the healthcare industry, serving as an ideal entry point for students exploring medical occupations or preparing for advanced clinical programs. Students will investigate the five primary career pathways—Therapeutic, Diagnostic, Health Informatics, Support Services, and Biotech Research—while gaining a foundational understanding of anatomy, physiology, healthcare law, and medical mathematics. The curriculum emphasizes essential professional standards and employability skills. Students may receive two CTE credits, one math credit, and one ELA credit.
