Ms. Abagail Morrison
Ms. Abagail Morrison joined the OHM BOCES Career and Technical Education Center as a Nursing Assistant teacher in 2020.
Prior to joining BOCES, Ms. Morrison was employed as a tobacco and alcohol prevention instructor visiting schools throughout Oneida County and developing her love for teaching and education. After becoming a registered nurse, she provided home nursing care for several elderly patients and eventually became the master instructor for BOCES adult education practical nursing program’s day and evening classes. Ms. Morrison also continues to teach infection control, CPR and first aid classes. She earned her associate degree in registered nursing from St. Elizabeth College of Nursing and her bachelor’s degree from SUNY Polytechnic Institute.
As a nurse and a teacher, Ms. Morrison loves caring for people, whether that be patients or students. She loves how hands-on her job is and that it allows her to always stay busy. When students walk into her classroom, the smile on Ms. Morrison’s face and joy to be there is obvious. Having a positive attitude and making learning fun is what makes her classroom a great environment. She can empathize with being a nursing student herself and having been bullied in school, so she is a teacher that stands up for students, and allow them to be confident together. Ms. Morrison knows that being a teacher is all about students and their journey of learning together!
In her free time, Ms. Morrison can be found on the farm with all the cows!
