Mr. Hoover

Mr. Hoover is a social studies teacher in his tenth year of teaching. As part of the program at P-TECH, he teaches Global I, Global II, US History, and Participation in Government. 

Mr. Hoover earned his B.A. in Political Science and teaching certificate from Hartwick College. After a year as a teacher assistant at the Plainedge Middle School on Long Island, he went to Wake Forest to earn his M.A.Ed. in Secondary Education. After receiving his graduate degree, Mr. Hoover taught Global I, Global II, US History, Economics, and Participation in Government at the Eldred Central School District. In those seven years, Mr. Hoover focused on writing and literacy in the social sciences. At P-TECH, Mr. Hoover is the architect of International Night, where students create graphic novels and museum exhibits that align with their projects. His main goal is to create an engaging learning environment where all students have the ability to learn.
