This resource is designed to provide clear instructions to streamline your application process, ensuring that your materials are complete, consistent and ready for prompt review by the District's Board of Education. Carefully following these guidelines will help present your qualifications in the most professional manner.
1. Use the Provided Checklist
Before you begin assembling your application, please download, review and use the checklist provided on the application. This checklist is a valuable tool to verify that you have included all the required documents in your submission.
2. Identifying Your Materials: Include Your Name
Ensure your name is clearly printed on every page of your application packet—including your resume, cover letter, references, certification and any other supporting documents. In order to ensure consistency, any photos included in resumes or application materials will be redacted by the Search Consultant.
3. Formatting and Submission: Submit a Single PDF File
All application materials must be compiled into a single PDF file. Adhering to these formatting guidelines is essential for efficient processing. Please follow these guidelines:
- File Naming: Name your file clearly (e.g., "YourLastName_SuperintendentApplication.pdf").
- Document Order: Please arrange the documents in your PDF in this specific order:
- Completed Application Form (four pages)
- Writing sample included
- Letter of Interest (specific to the position)
- Current Resume
- Copy of Administrative Certification (SDA/SDL)
- College Transcripts
- Four Confidential References (included on page 3 of application)
- Four Confidential Letters of Reference (optional but encouraged)
- Completed Application Form (four pages)
- File Format: Submit only a single PDF file. Multiple files or other file formats will not be accepted.
4. Confidential References.
On page 3 of the application, you will submit the names and contact information for four confidential references. If you also choose to provide Letters of Reference, they should be included in the PDF as outlined above.
5. Review Your Submission Carefully and Proofread
Before finalizing your submission, please take a few minutes to thoroughly review your application materials:
- Confirm that all required documents are present, legible and in the correct order.
- Carefully check for any errors in formatting, spelling or grammar. A polished and professional presentation is essential.
6. Submission Method and Deadline
Verify that you are using the correct submission method:
- All application materials must be submitted via email as a single PDF file to watervillesuptsearch@oneida-boces.org.
- Please double-check the email address before sending to ensure accuracy.
The deadline for application submission is Thursday, March 27, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. Submitting your application well in advance of the deadline is strongly encouraged to avoid any last-minute technical difficulties.
You will receive a confirmation email within one business day of submitting your completed application materials.
7. Keep a Copy for Your Records
Retain a copy of your completed application packet for your personal records.
8. Follow All Instructions Carefully
Make sure to read and follow all instructions provided in the application precisely. This attention to detail will help ensure a smooth application process.
