Ms. Hilary Williams joined the OHM BOCES Career and Technical Education Center as an English teacher in 2004. She works with CTE programs, MiTech and dual-credit English for New Visions.

Prior to joining BOCES, Ms. Williams was employed as a long-term substitute business education teacher for the Westmoreland Central School District, site supervisor for the Proctor High School Young Scholars Program and an English/business teacher for the West Canada Valley Central School District.

Ms. Williams studied liberal arts at Mohawk Valley Community College and earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from SUNY Buffalo State College, her Master of Education in leadership and instruction for the inclusive classroom from Utica College and completed administrative coursework at Le Moyne College. She is NYS certified in English 7-2, is a member of ACTE and the New York Mills Historical Society, and was nominated for the 2019 New York State Career and Technical Education Teacher of the Year Award.

Ms. Williams is fulfilled by supporting students in their personal transitions from adolescence to young adulthood and appreciates the role that she can play in their success. Her understanding of adolescent development, empathy for the whole child, and innate ability as an effective communicator make Ms. Williams a great teacher.

In her free time, Ms. Williams volunteers with the Boilermaker Road Race, Whitestown Cheerleading, Coliseum Soccer Club, St. Mary’s Church and is a bone marrow donor. She enjoys cooking, reading, soccer, baseball, basketball and volleyball. She is married to her high school sweetheart and has three children and two dogs.
