Mr. Terry Barr joined the OHM BOCES Career and Technical Education Center as a Food Service teacher in 2017.

Prior to joining BOCES, Mr. Barr worked in the Food Service industry in various capacities for 40 years in both New York and Florida. He is a graduate of the Whitesboro Central School District, SUNY Cobleskill and SUNY Oswego. Mr. Barr received an operational score of 98.7% on his Sodexho/Marriott account standards review, achieving the highest score in the district and receiving the standards in excellence award. He also participated in the annual salon of culinary arts sponsored by the Société Culinaire Philanthropique and was awarded the gold medal for team buffet table presentation.

Mr. Barr’s ability to connect with students on an academic and personal level makes him a great teacher. His favorite part of his job is making a positive impact on student’s lives, teaching them life skills and providing opportunities to be successful.

In his free time, Mr. Barr enjoys sports, hockey, fishing, camping and hiking.
