Who Can Enroll in Tech Prep?

 

Tech Prep students must be juniors or seniors in one of the 12 school districts affiliated with Oneida BOCES:
  • Brookfield
  • Clinton
  • Holland Patent
  • New Hartford
  • New York Mills
  • Oriskany 
  • Remsen
  • Sauquoit Valley
  • Utica City Schools
  • Waterville
  • Westmoreland
  • Whitesboro 
Tech Prep Students complete a four unit sequence in technology, business, and/or communications. They also must complete three units of math, three units of science, participate in job shadowing, and complete a portfolio of their best work. These educational experiences demonstrate to college admissions counselors and to potential employers that Tech Prep Students have a solid set of diversified skills that will help them be successful in both college and work.
How Do I Get Involved?
  1. Complete and send the Tech Prep Enrollment Form to the Tech Prep Office 
  2. Contact the Tech Prep Team Leader in your school (If you don't know your Team Leader, contact the Tech Prep Coordinator at Oneida BOCES)
  3. Complete the Tech Prep Certificate Requirements:
    1. Fours units in a Tech Prep Curriculum Area (Technology, Business, and/or Communications)
    2. Three units of math
    3. Three units of science
    4. A one-day job shadowing experience through the SABA Program
    5. A portfolio of your best work.
