Services of a BOCES teacher are available to the Oneida County Crisis Residence Program. The program is located at the Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center and the House of the Good Shepherd, serving students ages 6-17. The objective of the program is to prevent/divert unnecessary inpatient hospitalization of children ages 6-17 by providing a crisis residence program. This program is for both general education students and students with special educational needs.

BOCES provides a teacher for the children admitted and assists the Neighborhood Center Child Guidance Clinic with linkage to an appropriate school program in the community. Children can remain at the residence for up to seven days to allow sufficient time to assess their needs and provide linkages to the appropriate community services.
