Counseling is provided for
students in BOCES special education programs by certified social
workers who work with individual students as mandated by their
IEPs. Special techniques and skills are used to achieve
specified goals beneficial to the student and mutually accepted
by both the social worker and student. In addition, the BOCES
social workers provide assistance to families in connecting with
community agencies and transition planning as students prepare
for graduation. |
