Write a five-page research
paper with bibliography during class time on the following aspects
of the assigned topic: definition, history of discovery or origin,
symptoms, treatment, prognosis of elimination, supporting organizations,
geographical spread or awareness. Also, place in class folder
three articles and summaries weekly (minimum of 450 words per
article). |

C. Product Criteria (What criteria for
a product of "good" quality?) |

- Material should be contemporary literature -- newspapers,
periodicals and Internet.
- Variety of sources types: Internet, newspapers, magazines,
brochures, interview(s).
- Correctly documented bibliography.
- In-depth writing indicating mastery of topic.
- Observable computer-use skill.

D. Standards Criteria (What evidence
is needed to determine that the desired standard is being achieved?) |

Knowledge:
- Related vocabulary terms and concepts discussed in coherent
writing.
- Use of databases and print indexes.
- Organization:
- Met weekly assignment deadlines.
- Rough draft/ final draft written during class time.
- Secured passes to school library on regular basis -- documented.
- Student participation in classroom discussion concerning
assigned topic.
