The Stephen W. Johnson SABA Made A Difference Awards are presented to
the companies and individuals who have gone above and beyond to help students understand career opportunities and prepare for their futures.
These awards recognize the companies and individuals who have provided many special shadowing experiences, career tours, and school presentations. Thanks to these
companies and their employees, the SABA program has significantly impacted the lives of many young people.

| Stephen
W. Johnson
was a member of the SABA Board of Directors
for more than 10 years. He was one of the
founding fathers of the program and served two
terms as chairman of the board. Johnson was
extremely instrumental in helping SABA build
business support. Each year as we honor the
companies and individuals making extraordinary
contributions to SABA, we think of Steve and
his service not only to SABA, but various
other community organizations as well. |

Company Award
Cheryl Perry, administrator education and professional development at
Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare, accepted the Company Award at the SABA Annual Meeting in June.
Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare once again stands out as SABA’s most involved business partner.
Faxton-St. Luke’s has willingly opened its doors to students from all of our school districts.
• 44 students participated in a full-day shadowing experience.
• 16 staff made classroom presentations.
• 2 career tours were held.
• 300 Observations were made by Proctor students.
• 35 students participated in summer internships in various departments at the hospital (operating room, cancer center, recovery, etc.).
*Scott Perra, COO, Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare, is a member of the SABA Board and has been very instrumental in building the
SABA/Faxton-St. Luke’s Partnership.
Individual Award
Colette Wilk, clinician, education services at
Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare was presented with the individual award for her exceptional service to the SABA Program. She did a wonderful job of providing career exploration activities for our students. She was the one who actually arranged all of the shadowing, speakers, tours, and observations.

Brad Czerkies, owner of Precision Unlimited, has been supporting the SABA Program since the program started in 1991. Though a small company, Brad always agrees to host shadowing students and to make career presentations. The students always gain a good understanding of the automotive industry when they spend the day with Brad. |

Coots of the New York State
Police. Captain Coots gives
students the opportunity to
participate in “Ride Alongs”
and to experience a typical
day in the life of a New York
State Police Officer. |
