Regional Program for Excellence (RPE) offers selected high school juniors and seniors the opportunity to explore career options through a summer or school year internship of 72 - 75 hours.
  • The Summer Session begins the Monday after July 4th and usually runs for five weeks. Generally, students spend half days with mentors, leaving time for other summer activities. Scheduling of the summer internship is flexible to accommodate a family vacation or a sports camp.
  • The School Year Session begins in early October and runs for 24 weeks concluding in early April. Students are excused from school for half a day each week (three hours) to meet with mentors. Every effort is made to work schedules around bridge programs, especially challenging courses and science labs.

RPE staff design an individual program for each participant to meet unique interests and needs. Changes are made in this initial plan as exploration leads to new interests and self-awareness.

An RPE experience helps students make more focused academic and career plans - saving time and money at the college level.
