Media Technology Services provides you with access to the PBS VIDEOdatabase. We have over 400 programs that are indexed on the website. The correlating primary source documents (maps, charts, graphs, bios, glossary of terms, photographs and lesson plans), may be used by both students and teachers. This is a wonderful resource for Technology, English Language Arts, American History topics, Global history, Government, Music and Art.
The materials on the website may be downloaded to disc, dropped into PowerPoint, printed and handed out to students. The program copyright allows you to put up to 3 minutes of video on your own tape to be used in a lesson. Students can create multimedia reports using the PBS programming and website.
All programs are also included in the Media Technology Services online catalog (Web/Max). There is a link right in the annotation in the catalog that will bring you to the PBS site. All PBS VIDEOdatabase programs have the prefix PBS in front of the number instead of “V” for video. Check out special collections in Web/Max to load the entire PBS collection. There is no waiting for the videos.  Media Services have the rights to make a copy for you when you request a program. It just takes an hour to make the tape.
In-service for this outstanding resource is available to every school, elementary, middle and senior high, in this BOCES service. Call 793-8513 today to schedule training.
