General Education Work
Experience and Career Exploration
The General Education Work Experience and Career Exploration
program meets the needs of general academic education students
in their home school by providing a modified career and technical
education program. The alternative program helps develop life
skills, coping skills and basic academic educational competencies
and helps students learn about the world of work while in a program
where they can earn money, as well as academic growth. The program
is designed for students between the ages of 14-21. Students are
provided with one-half day work sessions at a variety of jobs
which provide learning situations under written training agreements.
