Welding

One or Two Year Program

Welding students learn to construct and repair equipment, machinery, parts and piping by fusing metal parts together. Students follow layouts, blueprints, work orders and verbal directions using oxyacetylene, MIG, TIG or arc welding apparatus.

A student completing this course may find employment as a production or construction welder. With experience and further training, a student may become a blacksmith, instrument maker or technical consultant. Possible employers are heavy construction contractors, machine tool shops, ship yards and the aerospace industry.

  • Heat treating
  • Cutting
  • Brazing
  • Oxyacetylene, MIG, TIG, arc and metal electrode welding

Starting Salary Range
$9.50 - $11.00 per hour
