Oneida County Crisis Residence Program
Services of a BOCES teacher are available to the Oneida County Crisis Residence Program. The program, located at the Mohawk Valley Psychiatric Center and the House of the Good Shepherd, serves students ages 6-17. The objective of the program is to prevent/divert unnecessary inpatient hospitalization of children by providing a Crisis Residence Program. This program is for non-Individual Education Plan (IEP) students.
BOCES provides a teacher for children admitted and assists the Neighborhood Center Child Guidance Clinic with links to an appropriate school program in the community. Children can remain at the residence for up to seven days to allow sufficient time to assess their needs and provide linkages to the appropriate community services.
