Alternative Education

The Alternative Education Program provides a comprehensive educational program for students who have not succeeded in the traditional classroom setting. There are four components which together provide a continuum of services for students at risk of dropping out of school. The goal of each program component is to provide a supportive family-like atmosphere structured to help students obtain a high school diploma and develop skills necessary to succeed in life. Students are generally referred for inappropriate behavior, poor attendance, lack of respect for authority, fighting and/or an indifference to academics. Based on the severity and complexity of the problems involved, students are assigned to the appropriate program component.
