The service creates a fiber-optic telecommunication network with the capacity to link all 12 component school districts, the BOCES complex and area colleges. The network connects up to three sites at a time into a single electronic classroom which exposes students and teachers to a range of educational opportunities and the latest in educational technology. In subsequent years, links will be established with regional networks, other states, and even other countries to enhance educational opportunities and promote a new sense of sharing and teamwork among both students and teachers in Oneida County.
