
What Are BOCES?
An Educational Partnership for School
Districts
Oneida-Herkimer-Madison BOCES was among the first four Boards
of Cooperative Educational Services established by the New York
State Legislature in 1948. BOCES functions as a link between local
schools and the State Education Department. Through cooperative
efforts of component school districts, BOCES offers a wide variety
of educational and support services to public education agencies
throughout the state.
Geographic Area Served
School districts in a 549 square mile area comprising Oneida,
Herkimer, and Madison counties.

The Board of Cooperative Educational Services, Sole Supervisory
District of Oneida, Herkimer and Madison Counties, hereby gives
notice that it does not discriminate on the basis of sex, race,

employment pay and benefits; counseling services for students;
access by students to educational programs; course offerings;
and student activities. This policy is in compliance with Title
VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Title IX of the Education
Amendments of 1972, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973,
the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, the Americans with Disabilities
Act of 1990, and the New York State Civil Rights Law 40-a-c. Any
