This course
teaches students basic skills in the area of personal needs and
develops the specialized skills required for patient comfort.
After
learning applied theory in the classroom, students practice nursing
skills in the clinical laboratory in actual role-playing situations.
Students then transfer their knowledge to the work environment,
where they spend six weeks (100 clinical hours) gaining valuable
experience.
Once
students complete the class, they are eligible to take the written
and performance test offered by NYSDOH to become a Certified Nurse
Assistant.
