CTEC Students Attend a Youth Summit
On Oct. 11, 2007, five students from OHM BOCES CTEC attended the Madison-Oneida Counties' Youth Education Summit. Nineteen schools attended the summit, which focused on the following:
  Purpose and Benefits:
1. To involve students in dialogue regarding youth issues.
2. To encourage students to develop a plan of action that addresses a youth-related issue.
3. To guide student groups to take action in improving the lives of youth.

Students worked in mixed groups brainstorming possible strategies and then shared their results with everyone. Our team (Stacy Smith, Adrienne Midura, Terrell Vaughn, Bianca Petrilli and Sam Rosado) worked on ideas to improve school spirit. Plans were made for the Mix-It-Up Day, planned for Friday, Oct. 19 at CTEC.

A February workshop is planned where they will report the progress of their plan. There will also be leadership training in February.
