The New Visions
Communications program allows students to work with professionals
in the field during their senior year. Students have the opportunity
to work in a variety of communications settings, which include
public relations, marketing, journalism, television, and radio.
Students make important contacts that will be instrumental in
meeting their college and career goals.
This
program is designed to integrate English and social studies into
the curriculum through a variety of learning experiences. A great
deal of emphasis is placed on reading, writing, problem solving,
and critical thinking. Instead of textbooks, students use magazines,
newspapers, and the Internet to examine current issues in our
society, which helps them become more informed citizens.
