This program
is designed to provide students with marketable skills to enter
the field of cosmetology. Once the skills are acquired, students
perform services for customers in a salon setting.
Upon
completion of the program, a student might find a position as
a salon manager/receptionist, a cosmetician, skin care or hair
products salesperson or an assistant to a color consultant.

With
further training and experience, and upon completion of the required
1,000 hours, students are eligible to take the New York State
Appearance Enhancement license exam (students may have additional
opportunities to attend advanced seminars or classes between their
junior and senior year). Passing the exam qualifies the graduate
to work as a hairstylist, natural hair stylist, aesthetician or
nail technician.
