Advanced
Culinary Arts is a one-year course offered to seniors with the appropriate
enrollment requirements. Students meeting the admissions requirements
receive two days of classroom instruction at the Career and Technical
Education Center and three days of internship and cooperative study
at a local culinary establishment on a rotation basis. Rotations
span a 6-8 week period, offering a variety of cuisine preparation
and presentation.
Juniors
completing the Culinary Arts 1 program, based upon the recommendation
of their Culinary Arts 1 instructor, may be selected to go on to
Advanced Culinary Arts. Also, students with kitchen experience,
an employment reference and recommendation may also be selected
for the program.
With
experience and further training, graduates can find employment as
a chef, restaurant manager, food and beverage manager and food production
manager.
