Strategic Plan

Mission
The Oneida-Herkimer-Madison Career Pathways program will provide students in grades 9-14 with educational learning opportunities and work experiences in alignment with the dynamic needs and requirements of the work environment. Authentic, project-based learning and experiences and a seamless curricula will be achieved through a partnership between parents, businesses, education and labor.

Vision
Career Pathways graduates will demonstrate the necessary knowledge, competencies and skills to meet the evolving demands of the workplace in a diverse society.

Strategic Goals 1999-2004
The criteria for Career Pathways certificates at both secondary and post-secondary levels will be reviewed to insure value and relevance in preparing students for success in the high-performance workforce.

All students will have an opportunity to obtain a Career Pathways certificate.

Career Pathways curriculum will be reviewed on an on-going basis to ensure that it is in alignment with new state standards and that students receiving Career Pathways certificates are obtaining the skill levels needed to be successful in high-performance workplaces.

The articulation component of the Career Pathways program will be strengthened.

Staff development opportunities will continue to be provided for teachers to incorporate relevant and authentic learning experiences through business collaboration into the classroom.
