New York State has supported Career Pathways as a school-to-work transition program for the past six years, investing approximately $26 million in federal money and $25 million in matching funds from the local consortia members. As a result of this state-wide commitment, a tremendous amount of cooperative and collaborative strategies have been developed and implemented at the community level.

There are currently 33 consortia in New York State. They include secondary and post-secondary educational institutions, business and industry leaders, and community agencies.
